Here's a recurring momnesia moment I've been experiencing. The battery in my watch is dead, so the time is stuck at 12:40. I haven't wanted to take my watch off, however, because I'm afraid I'll misplace it. In fact, I know I will misplace it.
It doesn't really matter on a weekday because I'm at my computer most of the day, so I can see the time on my computer screen. But this past weekend I was not at my computer at all, so I kept looking at my watch. And, sadly, I kept thinking it was 12:40.
The first time was Saturday morning. It was actually in the 10:00 hour, but I looked at my watch and thought, "Oh no! How did it get to be 12:40 already!" I was panicked... until I remembered my watch wasn't working.
Later that day (around 2:30 I later discovered) I looked at my watch again. I thought, "Oooh! I can't believe it's only 12:40!" I felt like I had all the time in the world. Until an hour later when I realized my mistake.
On Sunday I looked at my watch THREE different times and thought it was 12:40. You would think that after the first time on Saturday - maybe the second time - I would remember that MY WATCH WASN'T WORKING.
But no. Sadly, no.
So I really, really need to get it fixed.
But right now I have more pressing matters. I need some food. Hmm.. oh look at that! It's 12:40. Time for lunch.
