I was at Changing Hands bookstore in Tempe this week to talk about Momnesia and sign copies of the book. And I have to say: I could live out the rest of my life in that bookstore. I loved it! It was one of those stores that not only has books, but also has tons of cute little gifts, notebooks, cards, etc. Needless to say, I was there until closing. They were like, "Get out. Please."
My friend Jennifer Wakefield took pictures of the signing event. She is a very talented photographer and you can find her here. In this next picture, I am yelling at people to GET IN A SINGLE FILE LINE. I sometimes get all riled up at these events.
Kidding, of course! In fact, I'm cracking up at something someone said. I can't recall what it was because, as you know, I have Momnesia.
In fact, at the signing I shared a Momnesia Moment that happened this week. I was simmering some sauce on the stove AND I was drying some laundry. I was multi-tasking - getting things done. Firing on all cylinders. Very proud of myself.
Then, after 20 minutes I went to take the sauce off of the heat. Come to discover that I HAD NOT EVEN TURNED THE BURNER ON. So for the past 20 minutes the sauce had not been simmering. Instead, it had been sitting there growing colder and colder.
Then I heard the dryer beep, so I ran upstairs. I opened the dryer door and - look at that! - there were NO clothes in there. I had been drying nothing!
No simmering sauce. No dry clothes. My 20 minutes of multi-tasking was actually 20 minutes of Momnesia-tasking.
So there you go. Sigh.
Let's end on a happy note: another great pic from Jen.
